  • Real Time Information Procedures (RTI)
    • Understand the purpose of RTI and the various types of RTI returns
    • Know the data fields that must be completed for RTI
    • Be able to develop procedures and processes to ensure that submissions to HMRC are accurate
    • Understand the procedures for dealing with new starters, leavers, National Insurance (NI) number verification requests and year end procedures under RTI
  • Expenses and Benefits Procedures for UK Employees – P11D’s
    • Understand the rules for the PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA)
    • Know the current Statutory Exemptions and Extra Statutory Concessions (ESCs)
    • Be able to apply the legislative background and compute the liability on expenses and benefits-in-kind,
    • Be able to differentiate between qualifying and non-qualifying relocation expenses
  • National Insurance Contributions in Relation to Directors and Employees with Multiple Employment – Advanced NIC Payments
    • Be able to compute the National Insurance liability in respect of benefits and expenses and PSAs
    • Understand how multiple employments can affect the calculation of National Insurance (NI)
    • Be able to calculate the annual earnings period and National Insurance contributions for Directors
    • Understand National Insurance Contributions and the different class of National Insurance contributions
  • Termination Payments to UK employees
    • Understand the legislation relating to termination payments to UK employees
    • Understand how to differentiate between the different types of payments made on termination of employment
    • Be able to demonstrate compliance with the rules and regulations for the operation of tax and NI when making termination payments
