“legislation.gov” has now been updated to show the recent changes made to the Trade Union Act 2016 that will come in to effect from the 1st of March 2017.
They have included six new statutory instruments details.
These cover all the key trade union areas and the act prohibits industrial action that is protected by law unless there has been a ballot turnout of at least 50%.
In core critical public services such as health, education, transport, border security and fire sectors, an additional threshold of 40% of support from all eligible members must be met for action to be legal.
