This week marks the release of the HMRC Employer Bulletin. This also marks the 100th bulletin from HMRC which is now released to over 2 million customers.

In 1999, responding to employers’ feedback, the first paper magazine style Employer Bulletin was published to give 1.5 million large and small employers the latest information to help them run their businesses. The bulletin has evolved and since 2021, is published in the fully accessible online format you see today.

This latest February release includes:

PAYE

  • Reduction in National Insurance contributions rate from 6 November 2022 — reminder of employer actions required
  • Reporting advances of salary when paid on account of earnings
  • Issuing of P9 coding notices to employers for 2023 to 2024
  • PAYE liabilities data available sooner
  • Basic PAYE Tools — New release
  • PAYE Desktop Viewer — Important maintenance update
  • Reporting expenses and benefits for the tax year ending 5 April 2023
