A lot has been written about the upcoming apprenticeship levy including various details round the devolved arrangements in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Skills Funding Agency (SFA) in England have taken a very different direction to the other home countries by creating the apprenticeship service which will represent an employer managed service for the funding, training and employment of apprenticeships in the workplace. By 2018 the service will be available to all companies employing staff in England but initially it will be available to employers paying the levy.
The system will show the offset allowance reported by the employer through their EPS and will be increased by the Government for a further 10% of extra funding.
The SFA has commenced inviting all levy-paying employers to now register online for the service to ensure the accounts are live for the first payment in May 2017 and the registration can be accessed through this link: register on the new apprenticeship service.
An employer will use their Government Gateway login details for each of the PAYE schemes that are required to register for the service.
The Apprenticeship Levy is a key change with a large impact on employers and The Learn Centre’s informative and detailed half-day course currently running will give you invaluable detail on the subject. Please call us for further details.
