The Living Wage Foundation have confirmed the Real Living Wage amounts for 2021/22. This amount which varies for London and the rest of the UK is created annually and comes into effect from November each year.

This living cost-based rate is decided independently from the government rates and is therefore different to the “median” rate calculation used for National Minimum and Living wages already announced that come in to effect from April 2022 and is a completely voluntary scheme for all employers to consider.

The other key difference is that this rate is effective from the 15th of November while NM/NLW changes from April 2022
