For those who have to consider the risks faced by Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes the tenth Purple Book has been published. This edition shows that on 2015 irrespective of the introduction of pension freedoms trends have remained stable.
The Purple Book is a joint publication by the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) and The Pensions Regulator (TPR), the focus of the publication is primarily for the private sector and the risks faced by their DB schemes.
Surprisingly there are approximately 6,000 DB schemes in the UK and The Purple Book offers the most comprehensive view of the risks faced by these schemes.
