Whilst a small number of employers continue to use the printed booklets to make payments to HMRC, these will no longer be available from April 2024.

Employers will no longer receive or be able to request a replacement payment booklet to make PAYE payments at a bank or building society or send with a cheque in the post.

Any current booklets can continue to be used at banks or building societies until the end of the tax year 5 April 2024. This also includes sending with cheque postal payments.

HMRC will be writing to employers to notify them of the changes and is encouraging employers to pay online as this is the quickest and most secure way to make sure payments are received and processed.

"I have used The Learn Centre on a number of occasions and have found it provides a great platform to gain the knowledge required to carry out my job. I started off with the Payroll Technician course and this in-depth learning gave me a great foundation of payroll knowledge to build upon and give me the confidence to progress up the career ladder, well worth it and would certainly recommend, no matter what level you are at there will be a course/qualification that can help you."
