HMRC has appointed two new Director Generals following the departure of Ruth Owen and Jennie Granger.
Angela MacDonald will lead the Customer Services Group, which oversees most of HMRC’s interaction with individual taxpayers, tax credits recipients, and small and mid-sized businesses. She moves from her current role as Operational Excellence Director at HMRC.
Penny Ciniewicz has been appointed to lead the Customer Compliance Group. This includes overseeing compliance for all customer groups, as well as HMRC’s counter-avoidance and fraud investigation functions. She is currently Chief Executive of the Valuation Office Agency. However, she was previously Director of Knowledge, Analysis and Intelligence at HMRC.
