HMRC has updated its Basic PAYE Tools (BPT) guidance about telling it when an employee leaves. Specifically, it has updated step 6 – producing a P45 to give to the employee.
The guide explains the steps employers need to follow when an employee leaves and the order in which they need to be done.
Use this guide if you currently use the BPT to operate payroll.
