Part of HMRC’s compliance annually is based on their agreed charter in respect of service and solutions and is therefore linked to confirming the departments performance and delivery.

HMRC deals with the tax and payments affairs of almost every business and individual in the UK. The HMRC Charterbsets out the relationship HMRC wants with its customers, what customers can expect from HMRC, and the behaviours expected from customers.

These annual reports therefore set out performance against the HMRC Charter and include progress and priorities for further improvement.
