HMRC has just released their latest List 3 of Approved Professional Bodies.
This list contains three new additions.
Individuals can reclaim the tax paid on fees or subscriptions to some approved professional organisations - but only if membership is required to do the job or it’s helpful for the work the individual does.
It is not possible to claim tax back on fees or subscriptions paid to professional organisations not approved by HM Revenue and Customs, or for:
life membership subscriptions fees or subscriptions not paid for by the individual, e.g. the employer has paid the fee
