With the UK now moving further out of the original government rules and further removal of restrictions due mid-August, the UK’s support process of employees and employers in the form of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) has now moved into its final stage for August and September. As such, the changes to the scheme mean a reduction in the claim amount by employers for staff who remain on furlough.
For the remaining two months, the employee must continue to receive 80% of their reference pay or £2500 which ever the lower for time not worked, but the employer claimable grant reduces from the current 70% to 60% meaning the employer must fund 20% of monies paid.
