On 1 February 2018 the 2018 version of P9X (English and Welsh) was made available for employers to download for the 2018/19 tax year.
Last week we published an article on this (P9X tax codes updated) but have since discovered that the form published by HNRC is incorrect, please read on for more information on the errors.
The P9X can be viewed at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/p9x-tax-codes
The form confirms the tax codes that employers need to uplift for 2018/19 according to suffix letters and which to carry forward for the new tax year that begins on 6 April 2018.
Furthermore, the P9X also confirms the tax rates and percentages and bandwidths for Scotland and rUK.
However, the figures specifically relating to the Scottish Income Tax (SIT formerly known as Scottish Rate of Income Tax) are incorrect at the Intermediate bandwidth.
The incorrect form is dated “HMRC 12/17” on the bottom right hand corner.
HMRC and Gov.UK have been advised of this error and HMRC are currently working with the Digital Contents Team to rectify it.
