There will be no direct change immediately after Brexit as the Repeal Bill will bring everything we have taken on board from the EU into UK legislation. However, there might be changes afterwards.

A big issue is holiday pay: “Our current legislation on holiday pay is not fit for purpose,” says Gurr. “There is an urgent need for clarification with holiday pay.”

Another key document that has the potential to bring a lot of change is the Taylor Review. It makes recommendations that can be split into eight sections:

1. Clarity in Law 2. One-side flexibility 3. Responsible business 4. Fairer enforcement 5. Incentives in the system 6. Self-employment 7. Scope for development 8. Opportunity to progress

The biggest issue raised by the Taylor Review for the audience was employment rights & protections (77%), with employment status surprisingly coming in second (23%).

"I have used The Learn Centre on a number of occasions and have found it provides a great platform to gain the knowledge required to carry out my job. I started off with the Payroll Technician course and this in-depth learning gave me a great foundation of payroll knowledge to build upon and give me the confidence to progress up the career ladder, well worth it and would certainly recommend, no matter what level you are at there will be a course/qualification that can help you."
