Following a review of the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) fees, government announced that the charges for DBS checks will be reduced with effect from 1 October 2019.
The reductions will be applied as follows:

| Basic DBS check | £25.00 | £23.00 |
| Standard DBS check | £26.00 | £23.00 |
| Enhanced DBS check | £44.00 | £40.00 |
Fees for other checking services remain unaffected by these changes.
The fee for the Update Service will remain the same, at £13 per year. The fee for an Adult First check will also remain the same, at £6.
Standard and enhanced volunteer applications will remain free-of-charge.
