HMRC has updated its guidance Pay other HMRC taxes, penalties or enquiry settlements and Pension scheme administrators: how to pay tax to show that payments can’t be made with a personal credit card.

The change follows on from the move to stop payments from being made at the Post Office.

Payments can still be made to HMRC through online or telephone banking, CHAPs, the Government Banking Service, at your bank or building society, online with a debit card, via Bacs or a cheque.
