The Pensions Regulator (TPR) is to carry-out compliance check on those large employers who were required to stage first upon the introduction of auto-enrolment.
TPR started carrying out these short notice inspections in January and expect them to continue for a few months more.
Organisations such as local authorities, charities that operate on a national basis, supermarkets and banks have been checked.
Once all the information has been collated TPR will review the findings to identify common themes and lessons learned.
The short notice checks follow compliance checks that were undertaken on large employers in the spring last year. So far these checks show that compliance among the large employers remains high.
