New legislation has been created from the 1st of October through the National Minimum Wage (Offshore Employment) (Amendment) Order 2020 to bring pay for seafarers in line with other employees. As such it aligns pay rates for over 25’s with all others which currently is set to £8.72 per hour. This has been created to ensure fair pay for over 10,000 maritime workers across the country and forms part of the governments Maritime 2050 strategy.
