On 22nd November it was announced by the Scottish Government that Carer’s Allowance Supplement would be paid to Scottish Carers before Christmas, the date of the payment Friday 13th December.

This supplement is only available to Scottish Carers and was introduced by the Scottish Government in 2018 as part of a commitment to increase the Carer’s Allowance.

The Allowance and the Supplement are taxable income, but as standalone payments they are not. Currently the allowance is paid at a rate of £66.15 per week and the supplement is £452.40 per annum paid twice a year. Therefore those who carers in Scotland who are in receipt of both the allowance and the supplement should be mindful of this.

"I have used The Learn Centre on a number of occasions and have found it provides a great platform to gain the knowledge required to carry out my job. I started off with the Payroll Technician course and this in-depth learning gave me a great foundation of payroll knowledge to build upon and give me the confidence to progress up the career ladder, well worth it and would certainly recommend, no matter what level you are at there will be a course/qualification that can help you."
