The country’s largest organisations have been urged to increase transparency about the diversity of their workforce.

The call comes ahead of the first meeting of the newly formed Business Diversity and Inclusion Group that is headed by Business Minister Margot James and is part of the government’s wider corporate governance reforms.

The Financial Reporting Council has been tasked with considering the government’s proposals around greater transparency of diversity policies, targets and progress towards those targets. It is expected to reveal its findings later this year.

‘Being open and transparent about the diversity of workforces is effective in bringing about cultural change – helping to remove barriers in the workplace from the shop floor to the boardroom,’ said James. ‘So I am calling on our largest companies to lead from the front and promote greater inclusion in their workplaces by increasing transparency about their diversity policies, targets and progress.’

"I have used The Learn Centre on a number of occasions and have found it provides a great platform to gain the knowledge required to carry out my job. I started off with the Payroll Technician course and this in-depth learning gave me a great foundation of payroll knowledge to build upon and give me the confidence to progress up the career ladder, well worth it and would certainly recommend, no matter what level you are at there will be a course/qualification that can help you."
