HMRC has made a range of updates to the Basic Pay As You Earn (PAYE) Tools (BPT).

The send an Earlier Year Update (EYU) using BPT guidance includes step-by-step help to send an EYU if you use the Basic PAYE Tools to operate your payroll. It has now been updated for the tax year 2018 to 2019.

The send an Employer Payment Summary (EPS) using BPT guidance details how to send an EPS if you’re an employer and your commercial software does not have this facility. Annual updates for the tax year 2018 to 2019 have now been made to this information.

The guidance for checking a National Insurance number using BPT has been updated for the tax year 2018 to 2019. Use this tool to check a National Insurance number if you’re an employer and your commercial payroll software does not have this facility.

Employers can use BPT to tell HMRC when an employee leaves. The guidance includes step-by-step help on what to do when an employee leaves, if you use BPT to operate payroll. The guidance has just been updated for 2018 to 2019.

The full guidance for employers using BPT provides details on how to download, install and run BPT as well as how to use BPT alongside other payroll software.

"I have always found the Learn Centre to be helpful and supportive of not only mine but the team's payroll training needs. The blended learning approach works well for me and I would not hesitate to recommend them as a Payroll training specialist provider not only for online delivery (e-learning) but also face 2 face and in-house. The Payroll Professionals Conference is also a great networking opportunity."
