On the 5th September 2023, The Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt announced that he will present the Autumn Statement 2023 to Parliament on 22 November.
Due to the timescales required for The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) to prepare a fiscal forecast, the chancellor must give 10 weeks’ notice ahead of the delivery date.
This announcement ensures that the allotted time is granted to commission OBR to prepare an economic and fiscal forecast to be presented to Parliament alongside his Autumn Statement.
