A new guide into the technical funding of apprenticeships has been published by the Education & Skills Funding Agency.

Employers that engage apprentices may find the information in this guide useful to help understand how employer accounts on the apprenticeship service operate or how government and employer co-investment will operate. It applies to new apprentices starting on or after 1 April 2019.

The updated document includes:

  • the change to the co-investment percentage from 1 April 2019. The notable changes are in paragraphs 44 to 47, but are also reflected in some of the example scenarios towards the end of the document
  • information on the new transfer allowance from the 2018 to 2019 tax year (see paragraph 110)
  • further information on how adjusted declarations to HMRC affect expiry of funds (see paragraphs 77, 80 and 81)
  • the removal of some old information
  • other minor clarifications.

"I know it is not till next June but just booked on The Payroll Centre's Annual conference. This is my must do course/conference of the year, having been almost every year for 10+ years, only missing for my wedding and having a baby, I even went one year with a 3 month old in tow! "
