A BBC presenter, Samira Ahmed who presents the BBC programme Newswatch, has won her sex discrimination case in which she argued that her pay should have matched that of Jeremy Vine for his work on Points of View. Jeremy Vine is paid £3,000 per episode while Ms Ahmed was only paid £465, both magazine programmes have a duration of 15 minutes each. The journalist had argued she was owed almost £700,000 in back pay.Read more

The Scottish Government have this week announced, that they intend to publish their draft Budget plans for 2020 on Thursday 6th February 2020, this is despite the fact that the UK Budget is not due to be announced until 11th March.Read more

HMRC has confirmed the new codes being added to the RTI process for the coming tax year. These are new return items created to manage in the main new legislation already in place for the 2020/21 tax year and focus on Statutory Bereavement pay, Changes to IR35 legislation, the changes to the Employment Allowance model, Class 1A National Insurance in real time and management of Company Cars.Read more
